Nick grew up ski racing in northern Maine before attending Bates College, where he experienced the transition from a working-class background into the highly competitive world of higher education. After college, Nick spent five years competing professionally before transitioning into coaching with the U.S. Paralympic Nordic Ski Team, most recently serving as Head Coach at the Milano-Cortina Paralympic Games. Through his work as both an athlete and coach, Nick developed a deep appreciation for the pressure, uncertainty, and identity navigation that often accompany high achievement.
He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Western States and works as a counselor-in-training at Crux Counseling in Bozeman, Montana. Nick enjoys helping students tell authentic, compelling stories about who they are and what matters most to them beyond grades and resumes.
