Vishal was born in India and raised in the suburbs of San Francisco, but fell in love with the sunny days and warm beaches of Southern California as he studied Neuroscience at UC San Diego. He entered college with the idea of pursuing pre-med, but wasn’t sure what medicine really entailed. However, he discovered his love of the medical environment and interacting with patients after working at Palomar Health in the San Diego suburbs and cemented his goal of becoming a physician.
Vishal spent time in college teaching science as a TA and helping younger students navigate complex ideas when he taught debate at his old high school. He continued to pursue his passion of teaching as an MCAT tutor for Kaplan while applying to medical school after graduation.
In his free time, Vishal usually spends his time outdoors, enjoying nature trails with friends or relaxing by going on a run. His recent endeavors have included running a few half-marathons and backpacking in the Patagonia region of South America.
