Seeking a talented college admissions counselor
Do you want:
1. a chance to help high school students achieve their educational dreams?
2. a fun and intellectually stimulating part-time job?
3. the flexibility to work when you want from where you want?
Passport Admissions, a small company that helps students apply to college and graduate school, is hiring an advisor. We’re looking for fellow admissions nerds, people who find the admissions process fascinating. Maybe you have admissions committee experience, maybe you’ve helped your kids through the application process, or maybe you’ve been a high school counselor. We’re more concerned with your passion for and ability to work with teenagers than we are about a particular set of credentials.
1. self-assured enough to help stressed-out teenagers and parents?
2. able to work independently with minimal supervision?
3. reliable and prompt with emails and phone calls?
Then, we’re looking for you.
For the past 8 years, Passport Admissions has helped students manage their applications, everything from picking schools to writing essays to preparing for interviews. You will join a small band of passionate people who work together to help students through the application process, both in-person and over the internet.

Wear comfortable attire to work
Pay ranges between $30-$50 an hour, depending on experience, plus a large referral bonus for each student you bring in (to be clear, the reason we’re hiring is that we have plenty of students to fill your plate; we just want to reward you for doing an excellent job with your students)

To maintain your expertise by reading relevant blogs, articles, and professional publications
To respond promptly to students, parents, prospects and staff within one business day

Previous admissions experience a plus
We believe that the college application process has gotten out of control. It’s a full-time job for parents and students to manage this process, and colleges - with their marketing departments and nuanced application requirements - aren’t making the process easier. Passport helps students find colleges they love, manage the stress of the admissions process, and handle the responsibility of applying to college. We believe that your last year living at home should not be spent bickering about application deadlines.
Owner/operator Rob Humbracht has worked in the standardized testing and admissions field for 15 years. He regularly presents at high schools around San Diego and at universities in San Diego and beyond. Passport is a small but growing company, and this position will be an incredible opportunity for the right person.
