Kristin Krogh

  • Advisor for students applying to college
  • Editor for students applying to medical school
  • Interview coach for students applying to medical school

Kristin earned her B.A. in World Literature from UCSD and an M.A. in Teaching from Duke.  She has worked as a community college professor at both Miramar College and Grossmont College, where she has taught writing, literature, and English as a Second Language. Kristin has also worked with international students through UCSD Extension’s English Language Institute.  At last count, she had taught students from 49 different countries.

As a San Diego native, Kristin was raised on carne asada burritos, skateboarding, and sunshine. She has discovered through trial and error that it is, in fact, possible to combine these passions, but only when one has a healthy respect for the laws of physics.

These days, Kristin loves all things nerdy, including reading books that are printed on actual paper and studying the rules of English grammar.  She also loves hiking, trying new restaurants, and talking exuberantly to strangers. She is in the process of learning Spanish and would love to take on the challenge of learning Russian someday soon!

Kristin is passionate about helping students find a school where they can explore their interests and broaden their horizons.  She believes that education is a powerful gateway to a fulfilling and empowering life, and she is enthusiastic about helping motivated and hard-working students carve their educational path.
