- Editor for students applying to college
- Editor for students applying to medical school
Katie is a North Carolina native who has moved enough times that now she’s not quite sure where to call home. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (go Heels!) with a degree in Journalism and then headed to Virginia for her first post-graduate job as a medical writer for a (*cough*) enema company. Having fallen in love with the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, she stayed in Virginia for law school and graduated in 2011. Then she dove head first into immigration law and worked as an attorney for a few years (all while living in Japan, a story that might be better told over coffee). She also worked with Japanese children and adults while living across the Pacific, helping them speak, read and write English.
Now, she’s happy to be back in the U.S. and even happier about this new foray into working with students. She’s pretty sure she was put on this earth to read, write and edit so this is the perfect job for her.
When she’s not helping students hone their imaginations into beautiful college essays, she’s usually doing something with her two dogs (and her husband, too, of course) or she’s curled up on her couch reading a book and wondering why on earth it never rains in Southern California.
