Matthew was born and raised in San Diego, California before venturing off to cow town...AKA UC Davis. He entered school undeclared not really knowing what he wanted, but volunteering freshman year led him down the pre-med path and ultimately a major in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior. In college, Matt worked as a chemistry and organic chemistry tutor, mainly for the pay; however, he discovered a passion in working one-on-one with students on challenging problems. This led him to work as a MCAT teacher, tutor, and mentor for Kaplan for a year while waiting to find his destination for medical school.
Matthew used Passport for his own medical school admissions and was thrilled with the process and the results. Upon his acceptance to medical school, he accepted the job as interview coach with Passport, wanting to help build student's confidence as they enter the final stage of their medical admissions process.
When not in medical school, you can find Matthew experimenting with a new recipe, tinkering with his golf swing, or exploring his new city of Cincinnati (Go Bengals?) with his wife Jamie.
