"Working with Passport Admissions was a great experience. As an applicant who was just barely competitive for M.D. programs based on my GPA (3.6) and MCAT (30), I knew that any support I could get in submitting a polished application would be a good investment. Passport Admissions did not write any of my essays, but they were a valuable (and well-trained) second perspective that I could confide in. I worked with Lyn who helped me identify where my writing was unclear, where the subject matter or tone may have been inappropriate, or where I made grammatical errors. Most importantly, she helped me sift through the numerous stories and lessons from my experiences as a pre-med to pick those that were the most memorable and illustrative of my character.
While the editing services that Passport Admissions provided were crucial, there were many other ways in which they also supported me. As cliché as it sounds, Lyn helped me feel confident about myself as an applicant; she reminded me that the stories I have to tell make me unique and competitive. Having the perspective and reassurance of someone experienced and trustworthy goes a long way in staying positive during such a stressful process.
Rob was always willing to dig to find answers to my very detailed, general advising questions. Since I paid for all of the Passport services on my own, he worked with my financial situation and offered a flexible payment schedule. Their appreciation of their students is clear in everything they do and the way they treat us. Finally, having someone keep you on task is pivotal to submitting an early application!
To gear up for the interviews, I worked with Alison who was enthusiastic and positive. She was very knowledgeable about the interview process, types of questions often encountered with different interviews (MMI or traditional) and offered great feedback. Again, Alison kept me calm and focused on my goal, despite my restlessness ahead of my interviews.
Even with my meager numbers, I received 5 interview invites and 2 acceptances to M.D. programs. This was the single greatest success of my life, and I can’t imagine having gone through the process without the support of everyone at Passport Admissions. These people will be honest with you. They will help you 'become the best version of yourself' and they will be your friends. During such a grueling process, there is nothing more valuable."
