Born and raised in Fresno, CA, Tyler is one of the few people who admittedly loves Fresno. His family is a foundation in the local motorcycle scene ever since his great-grandfather opened the first Harley-Davidson dealership in Fresno in 1919. Naturally, Tyler loved the trade and started working for his family’s small motorcycle dealership as soon as he was able.
Throughout his years in the motorcycle industry, Tyler loved the personal interaction between companies, vendors, employees, and customers. He wanted to channel his passion for connection on an even larger scale. Tyler decided to pursue medicine hoping to bridge the gap between the underserved community and their physician, while combating the severe physician shortage in the Central Valley.
Since graduating from Fresno State (Go Dogs!), Tyler has worked both at the family motorcycle dealership, and as a scribe in California’s third busiest emergency room. Similar to the thrill of riding motorcycles, he came to love the fast pace of emergency medicine. Tyler recently completed the medical school application process and found that with the strategy and support of Passport, the application process can be somewhat -gasp!- fun! He hopes to bring this excitement and love for the application process to all of his students so that they too can have a less stressful and more successful experience.
In his free time, you can find Tyler and his lovely girlfriend Haley deciding whether to eat Pho or Mexican food, figuring out which new series to binge watch, or spending a weekend away on their next road trip. He enjoys traveling, riding motorcycles, watching football, spending time with friends and family, and spoiling his cat Charlie.
