Margaret journeyed to San Diego from her hometown of Walnut, California in 2004, and between the sparkling beaches and perfect weather, never found a good reason to leave. She’s a proud UCSD graduate, former Triton cheerleader (yes, they actually exist), and alumnus of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity. While earning her Economics degree, she worked for Apple, one of her favorite companies, as the Apple On-Campus Representative. The job sparked her interest in Marketing and she went on to hold Marketing positions at several early-stage start-ups, including a younger Passport Admissions.
Margaret’s family includes her husband, Kyle, three dogs, Jake, Molly and Dodger, and usually a foster pet or two. Combining her professional skills in marketing and personal passion for animals, she founded a non-profit organization in 2012 dedicated to helping homeless pets: Furry Foster. She’s also involved in the local start-up community and boasts a first- and second-place trophy from San Diego Startup Weekend. You might find her reading a good suspense novel, playing tennis, or having brunch by the beach in her off time. Her favorite activity is spending time with family and friends, and she lives by the rule of “work hard, play hard.”
Margaret is currently earning her Marketing Certificate at UC Berkeley and eager to share her experiences with the students at Passport. As Marketing Director, she hopes to empower the students who want support in the admissions process, give them the tools and resources they need to pursue their ambitions, and have fun doing it of course!
