Who wouldn't want to stay in California for medical school?
The in-state tuition, the beautiful weather, being close to family, the ability to spend time outside (eh, who are we kidding - you won't have time to spend outside once you're in med school).
Staying in California is one of the most common goals of our students, so we thought we'd devote our June clas to learning the ins and outs of how to get accepted.
At this class, we will spend approximately five minutes on each of the 12 California medical schools, which are:
- UCLA Geffen
- UCLA Drew
- UC Davis
- UC Riverside
- Loma Linda
- Western (DO)
- Touro (DO)
You will learn what each school prides itself on, the special features of their curricula, what they require in order to be admitted, and how they choose applicants.
We hope you'll join us!
- Understand what the 12 California medical schools are looking for and what makes each one different
- Articulate your answer to the "why our school" secondary and interview question for each California medical school
- Create a to do list of strategies to take to make yourself more appealing as an applicant to California schools
- Understand the different application requirements - letters of recommendation, coursework, research experience, and other selection factors
