Helena Gali

  • Advisor for students applying to medical school
  • MS1 class of 2019, UC San Diego School of Medicine

Helena graduated from Yale University with a degree in Environmental Engineering. Originally from the Bay Area, she recently moved to Southern California to attend UC San Diego School of Medicine, which she has been thoroughly enjoying so far.

As a new San Diegan, she enjoys going on runs to the beach, swimming in the ocean, and training for triathlons. When she isn’t pouring over anatomy lab manuals and learning about polycystic kidney disease, she likes to cook, try new restaurants, and cross items off her extensive “Things to do in San Diego” bucket list.

Helena is looking forward to helping other future doctors gain admission into medical school:

“Having recently gone through the process myself, I understand the applicant’s perspective and want to offer as many pearls of advice as possible. The application trail seems daunting at first, but it’s worth it. I am happy to share my medical school experiences with students, which I hope will help them stay focused and excited for the wonderful world of medicine that lies ahead.”
