Alison Herr

  • Advisor for students applying to college and medical school
  • Advisor for students applying to other Allied Health programs: PA school, pharmacy school, and more.

Alison is one of the few, the proud, the native San Diegans. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and earned her teaching credential from the School of Leadership and Education Studies at USD. Alison realized that college admissions was her passion after teaching Humanities at High Tech High International. With her College Counseling Certification from UCSD, she began working with students at Passport Admissions.

Prior to teaching, Alison worked in managerial positions where she interviewed and trained dozens of employees. She combines her skills from her time in HR with her passion for education to help students prepare for undergraduate and graduate school interviews. She specializes in medical school interviews because she loves working with the passionate and interesting students that medicine attracts.

When she's not working with students Alison enjoys walking her tiny terrier on the beach, reading, reading, reading ... travel guides, novels, newspapers, etc., and traveling.

Alison believes that editing and advising allow her to use her teaching experience to guide students through the journey of interviewing, selecting schools and writing essays. She feels very lucky to work with passionate, intelligent students one-on-one. Your stories, hopes, and dreams continue to inspire her.
